Base salary: £59,268pa to c.£69,727pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top of base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits.

As Senior System Security Integration Manager you'll be required to take on key aspects of the physical security interface with contractors as part of the HS2 team that's responsible for the leadership of the system safety, security and interoperability activities for HS2; supporting the design of a safe, technically integrated and compliant future operational railway.

About the role:
  • Support the implementation of the HMG standards and guidelines such as the DfT 'Security in the Design of Stations' Guide through supporting decision making, reviewing designs and working with Police CTSAs and DOCOs as appropriate.
  • Provide justifications and elements of security design to the HS2 Security Steering Panel and Design Panel.
  • Provide security input to the HS2 project wide Hazard Record, analysing threats, compliance evidence etc.
  • Supporting the Senior System Security Manager and the Head of System Safety, Security and Interoperability to maintain cooperative relationships with DfT Land Security, Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) and the British Transport Police (BTP) to ensure early buy-in and continued assurance to ensure we generate the approval of the HS2 designs.
  • Ensure that implementation of security operations are in strict compliance with UK legislation.
  • Ensure that the security vendors forming the supply chain to HS2 are proficient, reliable and meet UK standards and that security operations performed by them are compliant with UK legislation.
  • Supporting the Senior System Security Manager and the Head of System Safety, Security and Interoperability in the production of cost planning and budget management.

About You:

Skills:

  • The ability to brief and report to senior levels of HS2, and to interact at all levels with UK Police Forces, & Government Agencies.
  • The ability to receive and understand complex engineering information.
  • The ability to manage or support multiple work streams simultaneously.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of security risk management principles and processes, preferably within a CNI sector.
  • Knowledge of physical security principles, standards and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of security systems, blast mitigation and HVM principles and products.
  • Degree level qualification in Security, Engineering or a related subject, or equivalent experience.

Type of experience:

  • Experience of major rail infrastructure upgrade projects (interoperable railway) or a similar scale of project or a level of consultancy experience in producing assessment and deliverables.
  • Experience of delivering evidence of security design within a safety critical environment, e.g. aviation, rail, maritime, oil/gas, nuclear or military applications.
  • Experience of collaborating effectively with key government departments and regulators.
  • Operating within a regulatory environment.
  • Management of multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
