Qualifications

Based at our site inHuntingdon, Cambridgeshire, we are looking for aSenior Radiochemist who will be responsible for the synthesis and purification of isotopically labelled compounds used in regulatory studies. Experienced in handling and preparation of carbon-14 radiolabelled starting materials and a broad range of compounds.

Summary of Key Role

  • Acting as Study Director, performing multistep synthesis and purification of carbon-14 labelled compounds using organic synthesis techniques.

  • Ensuring that all studies are performed and reported as scheduled and to a high scientific quality.

  • Using resources, skills and effective planning to achieve customer expectations in quality and timing.

  • Preparing and issuing study plans and any amendments to those plans.

  • Effectively communicate study updates with internal and external customers

  • Supporting preparation and scientific review of enquiries, cost builds, proposals, study plans and reports.

  • Designing and planning synthetic routes to a range of chemical classes.

Education:

  • PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record of successfully performing multistep organic synthetic chemistry and a passion for working at the bench.

  • Experienced in Carbon-14 isotopic labelling

  • Use and interpretation of HPLC, MS and NMR data.

  • Excellent time management, strong organisation skills and effective communication skills

  • Able to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team

  • Strong study management experience

  • Worked in CRO, GLP, SOPs and COSHH
