Job summary

A prominent multidisciplinary consultancy in Manchester is seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant to lead sustainability strategies and advise on ESG matters. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Environmental Management or similar and experience in sustainability consulting, particularly with BREEAM and LEED assessments. Qualifications

  • A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Environmental Management, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a similar, relevant discipline.
  • Considerable experience of working within the sustainability field, in a consultancy setting.
  • Demonstrable experience of undertaking LEED, SKA, or WELL Building Standard assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on sustainability strategies and monitoring frameworks.
  • Oversee Net‑Zero Carbon strategies and assessments.
  • Conduct material life cycle assessments (LCA) and circulatory assessments.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join my client, a globally-renowned, industry-leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy known for lending their expertise to an array of projects across the architecture, planning, engineering, and sustainability landscapes. They are actively seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Senior Sustainability Consultant with a strong background in ESG, to join an already-established team of consulting professionals at the office based in the vibrant, cultural city of Manchester.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Sustainability Consultant include:
  • Take the lead on sustainability strategies and monitoring frameworks
  • Oversee Net‑Zero Carbon strategies and assessments
  • Conduct material life cycle assessments (LCA) and circulatory assessments
  • Provide support for environmental and wellbeing consultancy and assessments (including BREEAM, LEED, SKA, and the WELL Building Standard)
  • Conduct post‑occupancy evaluations (POE) and NABERS assessments
  • Provide Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) consultancy services
Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Sustainability Consultant include:
  • A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Environmental Management, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a similar, relevant discipline
  • Considerable experience of working within the sustainability field, in a consultancy setting
  • Excellent working knowledge of BREEAM, including the successful delivery of BREEAM assessments
  • Experience of producing complex technical reportsGood working knowledge of environmental and sustainability legislation, particularly with reference to UK developments
  • Demonstrable experience of undertaking LEED, SKA, or WELL Building Standard assessments
  • Excellent proficiency with materials life cycle tools and software systems, such as One Click LCA
  • Experience of carrying out circulatory assessments and consultancy services
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Sustainability Consultant include:
  • A UK Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant built environment discipline
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
