Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a site-based structural engineer with a background in nuclear processing, preferably from Sellafield. The role entails providing design liaison support and coordinating design changes on-site. Candidates must be UK residents with security clearance and will work predominantly at Sellafield or nearby Westlakes for four days per week. This position will not be offered on a remote basis.

Overview

Structural engineer
We are looking for a site based structural engineer, specifically from a nuclear processing background and ideally that would be from Sellafield. The project is now in the construction phase and its likely to run well into 2028.

Responsibilities

• Site-based CS&A Design Liaison Engineer i.e. have a good knowledge of civil, structural and architectural design and construction.
• Site design support as required including undertaking Civil & Structural engineering design, checking and reviewing engineering designs from colleagues, temporary works design reviews from subcontractors etc.
• Coordinating design changes between Construction and the Design teams.
• The role is based on Sellafield Site but the candidate themselves will be part of the Design Team again at Westlakes.
• Exact deliverables are difficult to predict as many of the items come under Design Support.
• Due to security restrictions, documents cannot be provided at this stage

Context and Collaboration

As with all UK Nuclear work this must be on a PAYE basis. Applicants must be UK residents with security clearance. The role will require the successful applicant to be based either on-site at Sellafield or nearby Westlakes for 4 days per week. This is not being offered on a remote basis.
