A healthcare provider in Greater London is seeking an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join their Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Speech and Language Therapy and be registered with the Health Professions Council. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Speech & Language Therapist who exemplifies our Trust values to join our highly specialist Speech & Language Therapist service to the Charing Cross Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit (CNRU). The unit delivers Level 2 neuro-rehabilitation to 15 inpatients from North-West London boroughs, including 4 'Rapid Access to Acute Rehabilitation' (RAAR) beds. The service is fully multi-disciplinary (MDT) with leadership from our consultant in rehabilitation and has strong links with local stroke services, our major trauma unit and community neurological services.
You will be an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, working closely with nursing, physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist , dietetics, psychology and therapy support workers to provide holistic management of the patients’ needs. You will also be part of the wider Speech & Language Therapist department, which runs a weekly Video fluoroscopy service on site as well as an on-request FEES service.
The post holder must be an effective communicator with complex neuro-rehabilitation clinical skills and experience of working in multi-disciplinary team. You will be the most senior speech & language therapist on the unit, carrying a caseload and supervising band 6 speech & language therapists and Therapy suppory workers. The role offers the opportunity to further develop a range of skills: clinical, supervisory, educational, and service improvement, and is supported by the Clinical Lead Speech & Language Therapist for Stroke and Neuro-Rehab, and the Therapy Lead for Neuro-Rehab unit.
