As Senior Sous Chef you will play a pivotal leadership role in the kitchen, acting as the second-in-command to the Head Chef and driving excellence across all culinary operations.
Kitchen Leadership – Lead and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operations across all sections and fostering a high‑performing team culture.
Menu Execution & Quality Control – Ensure dishes are prepared to the highest standards, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and timing, while supporting innovation and seasonal menu development.
Inventory & Cost Management – Monitor stock levels, manage supplier relationships, and help control food costs and waste reduction strategies.
Training & Development – Mentor junior chefs and apprentices, fostering skill development, morale, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Health & Safety Compliance – Enforce hygiene standards, food safety protocols, and kitchen cleanliness in line with HACCP and local regulations.
Problem Solving & Decision‑Making – Step in during service disruptions, resolve conflicts, and make quick decisions under pressure to maintain service excellence.
Collaboration with Head Chef – Assist in menu planning, specials creation, and operational strategy, contributing to the overall culinary vision.
Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef in a luxury hotel or high‑end culinary environment.
Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP compliance.
Exposure to menu development and seasonal planning.
Proven ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and maintain kitchen discipline.
Committed to delivering the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation, while balancing creativity with operational and financial goals.
Formal culinary training or diploma.
Ability to thrive in high‑pressure environments and adapt to changing menus or guest preferences.
Proven work experience or exposure to London‑based hotels, with knowledge of UK hospitality standards, local compliance (e.g., Food Hygiene Rating Scheme), and service expectations for international guests.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
