Qualifications

• A Social Work qualification is required.
• Professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent is mandatory.
• Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with young people and adults is essential.
• Proven ability to produce a high standard of report writing.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures is necessary.
• Ability to work in partnership with placing authorities is required.
• Confidence in transporting children in stressful situations is needed.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including occasional nights away, is expected.
• Full driving license is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes.
• Monitor the continued suitability and competence of foster parents.
• Work with foster parents on understanding the fostering task and expectations.
• Provide regular supervision to foster parents.
• Collaborate with local authorities and professionals to support children.
• Ensure compliance in key documentation from children and foster parents.
• Promote participation of children in agency development.
• Participate in an 'out of hours' support service on a rota basis.
• Engage in day 'duty system' supporting the referrals team.
