Job summary

A leading construction firm in the UK is seeking a Senior Site Manager to oversee commercial projects. The role involves managing site operations, coordinating trades, and ensuring projects meet quality and safety standards. Ideal candidates will have experience in fit-out projects (hotels, offices, retail) and possess strong organisational and communication skills. Certifications in SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid are preferred.

Ridgeway & Co are proud to be partnering with a leading tier one contractor based in Cambridge, with their search for a Senior Site Manager with a strong track record in commercial projects, ideally within a College / Hospitals / schools background. You'll oversee all on-site activities, coordinate trades, and ensure delivery to programme, budget, and the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations and coordinate subcontractors.
• Oversee M&E upgrades alongside joinery and finishing trades.
• Plan and manage site logistics, sequencing, and materials.
• Maintain and enforce high standards of health, safety, and quality.
• Monitor progress and report regularly to the Project Manager.
• Ensure works are completed on time and to specification.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering commercial fit-out projects (hotel, office, retail, or shopfitting).
• Strong organisational and coordination skills.
• Ability to drive programme delivery and solve problems proactively.
• Excellent communication and site leadership skills.
• SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid preferred
