A charity focused on supporting individuals with disabilities is seeking a SEND Tutor to deliver effective learning programs for students aged 16-19. This role includes mentoring new staff, supporting curriculum delivery, and conducting assessments. Candidates should hold a BA degree and a higher-level teaching qualification, showcasing a strong understanding of special education needs. The position offers flexible hours in a supportive environment along with various benefits such as training and development opportunities.
Due to an increase in student numbers we’re looking for reliable and motivated people to join our professional team as Special Education Needs and Disability Tutors at our College Centre based in Bedford. We would welcome applications from those looking for full time or part time hours.
The successful applicants will support young people with special education needs as they prepare for adulthood. You will be part of a dedicated team of professionals assessing needs and writing person‑centred education programmes. You will support students in the classroom and out in the wider community. Improving the communication skills and independence of students is at the core of our curriculum.
Does this sound right for you?
For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world. We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.
Working at Sense can be incredibly rewarding; we offer the opportunity to work in a large, diverse and successful charity where people can develop their skills, knowledge and careers in a supportive and flexible environment. In addition, we have excellent training and development, the opportunity for you to join our Group Personal Pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement.
