Job summary

A biotechnology company in Cambridge is seeking a Cell Culture Scientist to enhance its team. Cell Culture Scientist

Location: Cambridge, UK

Contract: Full‑time

Role Overview

A forward‑thinking biotechnology company in Cambridge is looking to strengthen its Cell Culture team. The organisation develops high‑quality recombinant proteins and supports research across stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. This position offers the chance to contribute directly to scientific projects with real impact while supporting customers working at the cutting edge of the life sciences.

The successful candidate will bring practical experience in stem cell culture, including routine maintenance and differentiation techniques. Working within a collaborative environment, you will generate application data using internal platforms such as iPSC‑based models and organoid systems. Your work will help shape product performance claims, support new product evaluations, and ensure scientific accuracy across the product range. In addition to day‑to‑day laboratory responsibilities, you will collaborate with internal teams involved in assay development, contribute to project planning, and communicate your findings clearly to colleagues. You will also play an important role in supporting customers by helping them troubleshoot experimental challenges and ensuring they get the best results from the company's products. Participation in a rotating weekend schedule is part of the role.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Solid hands‑on experience with stem cell culture, including maintenance and differentiation.
  • Confident in aseptic technique and common cell culture workflows, including transfection.
  • Experience in cell‑based assay development is advantageous as is a basic molecular biology knowledge (e.g., PCR, bacterial transformation).
  • Experience working with a quality management system such as ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 is beneficial.
