Job summary

An international law firm based in Greater London is seeking a Senior Risk Lawyer with substantial sanctions expertise. In this role, you will advise on sanctions matters, ensure compliance, and liaise with financial institutions. Candidates should have 6 to 10 years of post-qualification experience and a strong background in financial crime. This position offers a flexible hybrid working model requiring a minimum of three days in the office.

Qualifications

  • 6 - 10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Minimum of three years' sanctions experience in an international firm.
  • Experience working in an in-house legal team is ideal.

THE FIRM

An international law firm.

THE ROLE

A Senior Risk Lawyer with significant sanctions knowledge, to lead the sanctions work in the Risk team. This is a legal role, supporting the Risk & Compliance Partner, the Head of Legal Risk, and the General Counsel and COLP.

Responsibilities
  • Advising on all sanctions related matters affecting the firm
  • Ensuring sanctions compliance by the firm and its partners and staff, including identifying any clients and / or matters impacted by new sanctions, assessing the impact of the sanctions
  • Liaising with banks, as well as training fee earners on sanctions
ABOUT YOU

An England & Wales qualified lawyer with 6 - 10pqe, you will have at least three years' sanctions experience in an international firm, ideally as part of an in-house legal team as well as strong fee earning experience. With a good understanding of how law firms operate, you will have solid knowledge of sanctions law and practice along with financial crime experience.

You will be looking to work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 3 days in the office.
