Job summary

A leading charitable leisure trust in Ringwood is seeking a Senior Recreation Assistant to support Duty Managers and enhance customer experiences. In the role as a Senior Recreation Assistant, you will hold an important position supporting Duty Managers and helping to run the facility. You will be assisting in providing a safe, enjoyable environment for our customers and clients and helping to ensure their return visits. Complementing the Operational Team, your role will include front‑line building management, ensuring the effective delivery of the daily activity programme and supervising and working alongside the Recreation Assistant team.

You will also be carrying out a wide variety of duties which include equipment set‑ups, function rigs and de‑rigs and actively engaging with our customers, contractors, colleagues and hirers to provide a first‑class experience.

A full training programme will be provided and for those that want to go further, we will work with you to develop a career path with us.

Hours: 37 hours a week, Monday - Sunday (rota basis)

  • An ability and understanding of how to relate to customers of all ages and abilities and also to all levels of staff
  • Well developed interpersonal skills
  • Team orientated approach, able to work across organisation boundaries and demonstrate interest and be supportive of the work of staff and colleagues
  • To be able to work flexibly and understand instructions from managers
  • Demonstrated passion and energy for the leisure industry
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • NPLQ qualification or equivalent - training can be provided for suitable candidates
