Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated Radiographers who enjoy the challenges a Major Trauma Centre (MTC) will offer within a friendly multidisciplinary team in a central London location.

The post will give you the opportunity to build on your existing clinical skills in all areas of the General Imaging Department including A&E across a range of specialties and developing new skills in CT and Angio. Education and training are key elements of the department.

The Imaging Department at St Mary's Hospital performs a comprehensive range of procedures over all modalities. Being flexible and innovative in your ways of working will be fundamental to your role and good communication skills are essential. We also teach radiography students from a number of London Universities.

As part of the first Academic Health Science Centre, our aim is to provide world-class healthcare to our patients through excellence in research, education and training. Education / Qualifications
  • BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent
  • Health and Care Professions Council Registration
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Student clinical assessors course
  • College of Radiographers accredited cannulation course
Experience
  • Up to date knowledge of general imaging techniques
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Awareness of clinical governance issue in relation to patient care
  • Understanding of factors affecting service throughput and quality
  • Previous experience as Senior II / Band 6 radiographer
Skills/knowledge/ abilities
  • Ability to teach and mentor students, more junior staff and new members of staff
  • Ability to cope with work pressures and manage time effectively
  • Ability to cope with conflict and complaints at local level commensurate with Trust policies
  • Keep all records up to date in a clear, accurate and concise manner on a day-to-day basis
