Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a large-scale port extension and redevelopment project. This is a long-term, permanent opportunity on a major civil engineering scheme.

The successful candidate will have a strong civils background, particularly in works below ground, and will play a key role in the commercial management of the project from delivery through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial management of major civil engineering work packages
• Cost control, forecasting, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle
• Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Preparing and negotiating interim applications and change events
• Supporting delivery teams with commercial and contractual advice
• Ensuring contractual compliance and protecting the commercial position
• Assisting with CVRs and financial reporting
• Working closely with site and project teams

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering projects
• Strong background in civils works, including:
  • Earthworks
  • Groundworks
  • Water infrastructure
  • Roads / highways
  • Ports or marine works (highly advantageous)
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure schemes
• Strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract
• Excellent commercial and negotiation skills

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience on port or marine infrastructure projects
• Tier 1 or major infrastructure contractor experience
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills
