Job summary

Job description

18 Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our clients dynamic team delivering high-quality social housing maintenance and refurbishment projects across Leeds and the wider West Yorkshire region. This is a pivotal role within the commercial team, responsible for overseeing the financial and contractual performance of multiple planned and reactive maintenance contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial management of planned maintenance, void refurbishments, and compliance upgrade projects.
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.
  • Take ownership of CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations), valuations, and final accounts.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial performance to senior management.
  • Oversee change control, risk management, and value engineering processes.
  • Liaise with operational teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure commercial objectives are met.
  • Chair commercial meetings and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within social housing or public sector frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and JCT contracts.
  • Proficiency in Schedule of Rates (SoR) and NHF frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-site programmes and frameworks.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/finance systems (e.g., Dynamics, Navision).
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline; RICS accreditation desirable.
