Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor - Major Infrastructure Project
Location: Saxmundham, Suffolk
Salary: 55,000 - 60,000 + Car or Car Allowance + package

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor seeking a challenging role on a significant UK infrastructure project?

I am representing a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor and they have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major design and build infrastructure project based in Suffolk.

This project is integral to the UK's future energy landscape and represents a unique chance to contribute to vital national infrastructure development supporting the transition to renewable energy sources.

The Role

Working within a dynamic project team, you will play a crucial role in the successful commercial delivery of large-scale civil engineering and building works. Your responsibilities will encompass the full commercial lifecycle, ensuring robust cost management and maximising value.

Key Duties Include:

  • Overseeing all commercial aspects and cost management for designated project sections.
  • Ensuring project delivery remains within budget constraints.
  • Providing sound financial and commercial guidance to the wider project team.
  • Preparation and management of tender and contract documentation.
  • Implementing effective cost monitoring and control procedures throughout the project.
  • Identifying, analysing, and mitigating commercial risks.
  • Managing the entire subcontractor process, including procurement, negotiation, administration of payments, and final account settlement.
  • Ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and company procedures.
What We're Looking For

We need a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record delivering major infrastructure projects within the UK.

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a Tier 1 Main Contractor.
  • Strong practical knowledge and experience working with either NEC or FIDIC forms of contract.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing subcontractors, including procurement and final accounts.
  • Proven background within the construction, civil engineering, or related infrastructure sectors.
  • Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively across potentially multiple packages or areas.
  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction field.
