The Opportunity

The consultancy is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its established and growing team in Plymouth. Candidates must have strong consultancy‑side experience, confidence in client‑facing delivery, and a desire for genuine career growth. You will work across a broad range of sectors, including:

Public and private sector developments. Project values typically range from £2.5m to £65m. The Plymouth offices are stunning. Their largest team in the region with colleagues ranging from Apprentice level through to senior leadership. Key Attributes & Experience

The successful candidate will bring strong technical, commercial, and interpersonal capability. Requirements include:

    Minimum 2 years’ PQS experience within a construction consultancy environment. MRICS or equivalent professional qualification (or clear commitment to achieving it). Strong understanding of construction methodologies, procurement routes, design coordination, and contract administration. Demonstrable experience in budgeting, cost control, value engineering, and driving project profitability without compromising quality. Confident managing NEC, JCT, and other contract forms. Skilled in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project and commercial risks. Excellent relationship‑building and client engagement skills. Strong project management capability—able to deliver against key milestones and manage complex timelines. Clear communication skills, able to update clients and senior stakeholders concisely and confidently.
