Job description

An established specialist highways and infrastructure contractor that operates across London is seeking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to complement their team in North / East London Borders. The role is working on a range of highway maintenance and highway improvement schemes valued at £15M per annum.

The business is part of a wider group that delivers major infrastructure projects across the UK. They have experienced significant organic growth over the last three years and have built a stable commercial team that delivers term maintenance contracts across the capital.

This hybrid working role requires three days per week on-site.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Senior Quantity Surveyor's responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out measurements on-site
  • Verifying sub-contract requisitions
  • Managing sub-contract accounts, including applications for payment
  • Liaising with and providing commercial support to site teams
  • Maintaining records and supplying information for monthly cost and value reports
  • Support the authorisation and submission of project variations. To authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders
  • Maximise cash flow through control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers
  • Value work executed by subcontractors and certify interim and final payments.
Experienced Required

Suitable candidates will be educated to HNC / BSc in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management and will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of NEC or ICC contracts.

You will be able to demonstrate an excellent grasp of Microsoft Excel and a proven track record of commercial success delivering infrastructure, highways maintenance and or utility projects.

This role is immediately available and is being offered outside of IR35.
