We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Worker for a residential service based in Wigan, supporting adults with forensic histories and substance misuse issues. This is a locum position offering an immediate start, working with a well-established team in a structured, recovery-focused environment.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in supporting vulnerable adults in a residential or forensic setting, who can lead shifts, mentor staff, and contribute to meaningful recovery outcomes.

The Role

As a Senior Project Worker, you will support the day-to-day operations of the service and act as a point of contact for both service users and staff. You will be working with clients with complex needs including substance misuse, offending behaviour and co-occurring mental health issues.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Leading shifts and offering guidance to junior staff
  • Supporting the development and implementation of recovery plans and risk assessments
  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
  • Working collaboratively with health professionals, probation, and external agencies
  • Promoting independence, structure, and engagement in recovery activities
  • Supporting clients with their reintegration into the community
