Job description
Role Overview

As an active Senior Project Manager in our project management team you will undertake multiple and complex work assignments delivering within timeframes and managing resources to provide exemplary professional services to our clients. You will have mechanical and electrical coordination and commissioning experience and ideally exposure to aviation projects and will be as comfortable working autonomously as you will be within a team. You will deliver best in class services for our clients across multiple projects.

Primary Responsibilities
Planning
  • Strategic project structuring and governance
  • Development of Project Management Plans.
  • Establishing and updating master programmes identifying project milestones and project team member responsibilities.
  • Interrogation of construction programmes agreeing changes or enhancements.
Engaging
  • Defining and liaising with and managing key stakeholders.
  • Establishing, implementing and leading project meetings with all project team members and stakeholder groups.
  • Producing project correspondence ensuring actions are clearly defined and delivered upon by all project team members within agreed timescales.
  • Preparing formal/informal reports on a regular basis to suit client requirements.
  • Attending client board meetings as required and preparing/collating board reports in advance.
Procuring
  • Producing and issuing consultancy scopes of services and request for proposals and other appointment documents.
  • Actively participating in the preparation of project tender documents in conjunction with the internal/external Cost Management department ensuring a full and comprehensive understanding of the project requirements is conveyed and reflected.
  • Reviewing and commenting on tender returns from a technical compliance standpoint.
  • Leading negotiations with contractors to ensure tender costs represent best value.
  • Assisting with preparation of contract appointments.
Managing Risk Delivering Value
  • Review and comment on design packages to ensure compliance with project briefs.
  • Leading value engineering and risk review workshops.
  • Compiling and tracking risk mitigation activities and value engineering opportunities.
  • Assessing contractors claims for delay events; working with commercial team members to establish entitlement.
Project Administration
  • Assessing and reporting on design team/contractor progress and commercial matters during design and delivery.
  • Formal client board reporting.
  • Agenda setting/minute taking as well as action tracking.
  • Managing the design teams/contractor to ensure all contract requirements are fulfilled.
  • Managing and co-ordinating responses to technical queries or requests for information.
  • Processing Contract Instructions and other contractually mandated procedures.
  • Ensuring stipulated levels of project governance are established and document management/communications protocols are adhered to.
  • Recording all correspondence and project information - Document Management System (DMS)
Commercial
  • Scheduling of project costs and negotiation of professional fees.
  • Monitoring and reporting of project costs and fees.
  • Requesting fee proposals and assessing the validity of requests for additional fees.
  • Verification of allocation and processing of invoices.
  • Preparing Change Requests and seeking costs/fees and any other implications from the project team.
  • Arranging client approval of Change Requests and issuing instructions as required.
General Duties
  • Establishing/overseeing/reviewing/approving the work of sub-consultants or directly appointed project team members.
  • Participating in and delivering professional development and training activities working continually to further develop your own knowledge and experience.

Qualifications
Required Experience
  • Education to degree level.
  • 5 years of project management experience.
  • Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), Members of the Association of Project Managers (MAPM) or equivalent.
  • Demonstratable experience coordinating delivering and commissioning Mechanical and Electrical projects.
  • Demonstratable airport/aviation experience highly desirable.
