Job description

UKR Group is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to start ASAP in a job in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the daily running and organisation of site activities from pre-start through to handover.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors and direct labour in line with programme and budget.
  • Act as the key point of contact with clients and design teams, maintaining strong relationships.
  • Ensure all works are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Develop and manage short-term programmes, with ASTA experience considered advantageous.
  • Work closely with the wider project team, including surveying, design and procurement, to drive successful outcomes.
  • Support and develop junior team members, providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Assist the Contracts Manager as required in the overall delivery of projects.
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, reporting and financial control.
  • Monitor risks, resolve issues and implement solutions to maintain programme and cost certainty.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry regulations and statutory requirements.
Skills:
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience of client-facing roles.
  • Proven capability to manage subcontractors and direct labour effectively.
  • Sound commercial awareness with a clear understanding of budgets and cost management.
  • Proficient in project planning and programme management (ASTA knowledge desirable).
  • Ability to foster collaborative working relationships across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, and Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Black CSCS card and SMSTS certification
  • Significant experience in a senior management role within the construction industry.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering projects successfully, on time and to budget.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, contract administration, and industry best practices.
  • Relevant academic or professional qualifications in construction management or a related discipline.
  • Proof of right to work in the UK
  • Must have 2 checkable references
