Senior Project Manager - OHL. Major OHL project based in North of Scotland.

About the role

Our work matters to millions. It will matter to you too. Join our Power Transmission and Distribution team as a Site-Based Senior Project Manager and be a key part of delivering complex, meaningful, and impactful projects.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, management, and delivery of a major Overhead Line (OHL) refurbishment project in the North of Scotland. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the project, contributing to the future of sustainable energy infrastructure in Scotland.

This role is based in a remote and rural location, requiring someone who is comfortable working in challenging environments and willing to be away from home for extended periods as part of the project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the delivery of the OHL refurbishment project, ensuring completion to the highest safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring effective collaboration and performance.
  • Implementing project plans from initiation to completion, covering scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Managing project financials, controlling costs, and maintaining budgets.
  • Engaging with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and successful delivery.
  • Driving innovation, efficiencies, and continuous improvement across the project lifecycle.
  • Supporting team development and providing mentorship to emerging talent within the organisation.
Who we're looking for
  • Proven experience in delivering large-scale Power Transmission and Distribution projects, specifically OHL refurbishment and/or High Voltage (HV) infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to drive performance and exceed expectations.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the power sector.
  • Commercial awareness, with experience managing budgets, contracts, and financial performance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of standard forms of contracts and performance evaluation techniques.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work in a rural, remote location and be away from home as required to meet project demands.
