Job description

Are you an Engineer passionate about sustainable solutions for Ireland's water sector? Take the lead on critical national infrastructure projects and join Stantec!

Ryan Hanley, now proudly part of Stantec, is seeking a delivery-focused engineer to join our dynamic team. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in designing and delivering resilient, sustainable, and vital water treatment and network projects that directly impact communities.

We are a global firm committed to designing with community in mind, and we offer a stimulating, collaborative environment where your expertise will be valued, and your career will thrive.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be instrumental in the full project lifecycle—from concept to completion—ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and exceeding client expectations on every project.

You will take ownership of the full project lifecycle, beginning with the creation of innovative designs for complex network infrastructure, pumping stations, and groundwater abstraction sites. You will serve as a primary technical authority, responsible for developing and compiling critical documentation such as in-depth feasibility studies, Multi-Criteria Assessments, and robust tender packages that ensure every project is built on a foundation of excellence.

Beyond design, you will navigate the complexities of the project environment by managing the preparation of all necessary documentation to secure vital planning and regulatory approvals. You will act as the central technical liaison, coordinating seamlessly with internal environmental specialists, technical experts, clients, and contractors to drive projects forward and ensure all stakeholders remain aligned.

The role is one of technical leadership. You will provide crucial guidance and support from concept to completion, managing the quality assurance of all project drawings and technical inputs. By maintaining these high standards, you will ensure our projects not only meet regulatory compliance but consistently exceed client expectations and deliver lasting value to the community.

About You
  • Education: Minimum Level 8 third-level degree (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Sector Experience: Significant post-qualification experience, specifically within water sector design (networks, treatment, or infrastructure).
  • Technical Mastery: Deep professional and technical knowledge of water networks and infrastructure design principles.
  • Software Proficiency: Competence in industry-standard software relevant to water network design (e.g., hydraulic modelling packages, CAD).
Why Join Us?
  • Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Access to excellent professional growth and development opportunities.
  • A collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Flexibility to be based in our Dublin, Galway, Cork, or Castlebar office.
  • Work on impactful and sustainable projects that are making a real difference across Ireland.

If you're ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role, we'd love to hear from you.
