About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to guide the development of next-generation control and data processing solutions for mission-critical applications. In this role, you will combine hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, overseeing a multi-disciplinary team to deliver innovative engineering projects on time, to budget, and to the highest standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a background in Systems, Electronics, or Software Engineering who is ready to step into a leadership role, or for an experienced technical lead looking to expand their career in project and team management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
  • Balance competing technical requirements and manage workload priorities.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of complex hardware and software systems.
  • Prepare and present design reviews, project status, and technical documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support customer and supplier meetings, ensuring technical integrity and quality of deliverables.
  • Maintain awareness of developments within the competitive and technological landscape.


About You

  • Degree in an engineering or science discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in project leadership or in one of the following disciplines: systems, software, or electronics engineering.
  • Strong technical understanding across multiple domains (electronics, software, systems, mechanical).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Desirable experience:
  • Leading complex projects involving significant software, electronics, and systems engineering.
  • Background in Defence, Aerospace, or other safety-critical industries.
  • Knowledge of standards such as DO-178, DO-254, IEC 61508, or relevant UK Defence Standards.
  • Experience designing and testing against demanding environmental or safety standards.
