The role involves managing continuous improvement projects and mentoring junior engineers. Overview

Senior Production Engineer

Up to £50K plus Benefits

East Manchester area, commutable from Oldham, Droylsden, Hyde, Manchester, Ashton-under-Lyne, Stockport, Rochdale

Hours: 37 per week, 8:00–16:00 Monday to Thursday, 8:00–15:30 Friday

The Role

Full Time permanent role on a large manufacturing site. Managing continuous improvement projects in the manufacturing environment. Combination of office based work with shop-floor based work. Mentor junior/apprentice/graduate production engineers. This role will suit an ambitious candidate who would like to work in a senior role whilst remaining hands on. You will be responsible for managing improvement projects focusing on areas such as layout, automation and waste. A multi million pound investment in improvements has already been implemented, so this will be an exciting time to implement CI projects.

The Person

Academic/working background with manufacturing/engineering. This could be degree, HND, City and Guilds, apprenticeship or be more lean focused. Extensive working experience of leading lean/continuous improvement projects. Experience of CI tools - 8D, FMEA, kaizen, DMAIC etc.
