A public sector purchasing organization in Salford is seeking a Procurement professional to oversee the procurement cycle in the Education sector. Responsibilities include managing contracts and providing mentoring support. The role offers a salary of up to £36,000, hybrid working options, and a commitment to professional development. This role is with Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC), a not-for-profit purchasing consortium providing compliant frameworks and specialist advice on spending practices and value for money in the public sector.
Role
We are looking for a Procurement professional, with knowledge and experience in the public sector, to work with our Contracting team based in Salford. You will join a team delivering services in the Education sector with a positive, can-do attitude. You will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement cycle for various agreements within the People category, including business planning, pre-market engagement, tendering, contract management, stakeholder engagement, and overall performance of the agreements in your portfolio.
You will also provide mentoring support to the Procurement Officers and Graduate Procurement Officer within the Contracting team, and provide a full procurement service to members for Frameworks, Dynamic Markets and Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS).
Public procurement knowledge and experience under the Public Contracts Regulations (PCR) 2015 and the Procurement Act (PA) 2023 is essential. Experience in a public procurement environment is required; experience in an education setting is preferable but not essential. You will be required to work from the Head Office, Procurement House, in Salford, M6 6AJ a minimum of two days per working week, with the remaining three days normally working from home.

Candidates with CIPS qualifications are welcomed; equivalent public procurement experience is also acceptable. CPC supports colleagues working towards MCIPS status and encourages ongoing professional development.
