Job description

Procurement Heads are working on a critical assignment with a National Operator responsible for improving resilience across UK Energy Supply, securing sustainable, independent and affordable power for future generations.

Overview

Category Manager needed for Professional Services with knowledge of Crown Commercial Services Procurement Routes and other equivalent frameworks. The role will involve regulated procurement activity, both within framework and possibly outside of frameworks under PA23.

The role will be aligned to provide dedicated procurement support and execution of sourcing activity through to contract formation and associated governance.

The Ideal candidate will have extensive professional services category knowledge with most sourcing requirements being for Consultancy support, including some Technical consultancy activity as well (across Security Services, FM, Property Management) .

Support delivery of a portfolio of strategic sourcing events within the category, identifying best sourcing strategies and leading events from market engagement through to award.

You will need exceptional stakeholder management skills and must be able to build collaborative relationships quickly.

The existing team ensures cost-effective and greener energy procurement through advanced agreements with generators, avoiding expensive on-the-day market purchases. Procuring balancing services for the UK energy system.

No direct line management; role requires independent delivery and integration into a highly competent team.

  • An in-depth understanding of the supply market within security services (access control, man guarding, physical, CCTV, perimeter, events, monitoring etc) procurement, and the ability to determine opportunities for cost reduction and supplier performance enhancement.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experienced negotiator who is skilled in using a range of negotiating tactics to achieve commercial and non-commercial outcomes.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Background in energy, utilities, or construction.
Location, Remuneration and Timeframe
  • Hybrid Working [mostly remote]
  • 4 days a month on site Warwick / Woking
  • £650pd Inside IR35
