A leading family law firm seeks an experienced Senior Private Family Solicitor to join its expanding team in Birmingham. This role offers flexibility, a competitive salary between £60,000 and £90,000, alongside the benefit of no business development obligations or court advocacy. The firm promotes a family-first culture with strong wellbeing support and clear paths for progression to Team Leader or Partner. Ideal candidates will have 4 years PQE and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 4 years PQE up to Partner level.
  • Ability to manage private family caseload independently.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Private Family Solicitor to be part of a highly respected, boutique family law practice.

Who we’re looking for


  • 4 PQE up to Partner level

  • Able to run your own private family caseload

  • Commercially minded with strong billing habits

  • Positive, proactive and open‑minded

  • Enjoys flexibility and remote work

  • Strong communicator, confident with client conversations

  • Legal 500 experience (desired but not essential)

  • Full‑time or part‑time (minimum 3 days per week)


What you’ll be doing


  • Manage a caseload of private family law matters

  • Deliver commercially aware, client‑centred advice

  • Build strong relationships and contribute to establishing the brand locally

  • Maintain accurate time recording and billing

  • Work within a national family team across Manchester, London and Leeds

  • Focus solely on fee earning — no BD, no advocacy

  • Participate in team video calls and receive remote support and mentoring


Salary & Benefits


  • £60,000–£90,000 depending on experience

  • 1 day per week in the Birmingham office (or once a fortnight/month depending on distance)

  • Option to work 4 days and get paid for 5

  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays (higher allowances possible depending on performance)

  • One‑week Christmas shutdown
