Senior Practitioner – Children with Disabilities Team

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Practitioner within the Children with Disabilities Team to work full time based in Kingston for Achieving for Children.

The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner job is up to £49,083 per annum.

  • Assessing the needs of children with disabilities and their families.
  • Developing individualised plans, and chairing meetings to ensure plans are on track in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals involved in the child’s life.
  • Use a range of interventions and skills to engage children, young people and their families in working ng toward the objectives of their individual care plans and ensuring that we hear the voice of the child.
  • Development and implementation of projects as supported by the Head of Service.
  • Contributing to the supporting of students on placement, and newly qualified staff (some opportunity to complete Practice Educators Course/other relevant training).
  • The Senior Practitioner in the Children with Disabilities Team will be allocated a caseload of children with a wide variety of disabilities.
  • They will undertake cases independently and demonstrate an ability to adapt the approach from first principles to deal with more complex or unusual cases, assessing and managing risks appropriately.
  • The Senior Practitioner will develop and share with others specialist knowledge while undertaking a range of assessment and care planning work.

Requirements of this role:

  • A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Experience in working with Children and young people who have profound and severe disabilities.
  • 29 days annual leave, increasing to 33 days after 2 years and 35 days after 4 years with an additional day off in your birthday month.
