Overview

Senior Practice Lead Accountant | Remote (London meetings occasionally) | Full Time | £55,000–£65,000 depending on experience + bonuses

Established in 2020, our client specialises in serving ambitious businesses with annual turnovers between £100,000 and £300,000. Their focus is on delivering exceptional accounting services to ex-corporate executives transitioning into business ownership for the first time. While this is the current client base, they are also exploring opportunities in other sectors.

They are now seeking a Senior Practice Lead Accountant to take operational leadership of client services and help drive the firm’s growth.

Are you the right person for the job?
  • Fully qualified CA/ACA/ACCA accountant with 7+ years’ experience (4+ in practice)
  • Strong technical expertise across UK tax and accounting standards
  • Confident in leading a support team while managing client delivery independently
  • Proficient in Xero, Sage, QuickBooks
  • Commercially aware, client-focused, and able to explain complex financial ideas clearly
What will your role look like?
  • Take full operational ownership of client delivery and technical work
  • Manage a portfolio of up to 100 Ltd companies plus director self-assessments
  • Lead and oversee the support team across bookkeeping, payroll, and admin functions
  • Prepare statutory accounts, corporate and personal tax returns, VAT, PAYE, and tax advisory
  • Review monthly management accounts and lead client cash flow discussions
  • Handle HMRC liaison, compliance, and onboarding of new clients
  • Maintain and scale processes while ensuring client queries are resolved daily
What can you expect in return?
  • Salary range £55,000–£65,000 depending on experience

  • Remote working with occasional in-person meetings in London (SE26 base)
  • 40 hours per week, 9 am–5 pm
