Senior Planning Lawyer

Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOE
Contract Length: 3-6-month initial contract

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced Planning Lawyer to provide expert legal advice on complex planning and highways matters.

Working on behalf of a London Borough Council, you will advise on a wide range of planning, regeneration, and highways matters, supporting the council in delivering key infrastructure and development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, negotiate, and complete complex s106 and s278 agreements.
  • Provide clear legal advice on governance and decision-making processes.
  • Support major infrastructure and development projects by identifying risks and advising on mitigations.
  • (Desirable) Attend and advise at planning committees when required.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX Lawyer with a current practising certificate.
  • Significant experience in local government law, particularly in planning, regeneration, and highways.
  • Proven expertise in drafting and advising on complex s106 and s278 agreements.
  • Strong knowledge of good governance arrangements and council decision-making processes.
