We offer a hybrid working model to split time between home and office to support a healthy work/life balance.

The role

Due to the continued growth of our business and the rapid expansion of our project portfolio, SSEN Transmission has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planning Engineer to support our Onshore Capital Delivery teams.

You will:

  • Lead a team of Planning Engineers and undertake the planning of a portfolio of projects within Transmission, including producing and managing programmes.

Practical field experience with planning and scheduling knowledge to identify challenges to the project schedule and suggested mitigations where required.
  • Liaise with project teams, contractors, site management and commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle to report on progress, risks and contingency plans.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and management of the planning team. Implement and monitor earned value systems that accurately measure progress and performance. Provide reporting and feedback on project status/progress to project and business stakeholders.
You have

  • Experience of planning on large-scale, complex projects throughout the project lifecycle. Ideally trained in NEC3 contract management with a focus on planning requirements.
  • Prior experience using company standard planning and scheduling systems (e.g., Primavera P6).
  • Demonstrable ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A can-do attitude focused on contributing to a positive working environment.
  • The successful candidate would be expected to travel between different SSE offices/project sites, with occasional overnight stays. Therefore, a driving licence is required.
