Job responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Senior Physiotherapist to join our multi-disciplinary team to deliver a person-centered therapy service to adults with physical deficits following an acquired brain injury or from a cerebrovascular accident. The role is within All Hallows Specialist Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, part of CareTech Group, and is open to Band 7 candidates.

All Hallows supports men and women with complex healthcare needs who have experienced a brain injury, stroke or other neurological event. Services include Active/Complex Rehabilitation, High Dependency & Specialist Nursing Care, Progressive Neurological Conditions and Community Rehabilitation.

  • Diploma/BSc in Physiotherapy
  • Current and valid HCPC registration
  • Experience of working with people with neurological conditions
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Leadership skills with experience supervising junior staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in rotational post, or desire to specialise in neuro rehabilitation and develop clinical skills in this field
  • Desire to develop knowledge and skills in brain injury rehabilitation
  • Previous experience of specific brain injury rehabilitation
  • Membership of a professional body (e.g. CSP)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of clients with brain injury and, with the multi-professional Therapy Team, assess needs and develop goal-focused physiotherapy rehabilitation intervention plans
  • Provide direct physiotherapy intervention and advise on related issues (manual handling, falls management, spasticity management, respiratory care, etc.)
  • Promote patient choice to optimise independence and physical activity
  • Demonstrate clinical leadership and complete regular clinical supervisions with junior staff
  • Share knowledge and expertise with staff through formal and informal training
  • Maintain a safe working environment, confidentiality, and up-to-date records in line with professional and company standards
  • Collaborate with health and social care professionals to plan and deliver therapy and facilitate smooth discharge
