Job summary

A leading NHS trust is looking for a qualified Pharmacy Technician in Liverpool to join their clinical trials team. This role involves dispensing and checking trial prescriptions, writing trial procedures, and managing investigational medicinal products. Successful candidates must be registered with the GPhC, have clinical trials experience, and be accredited accuracy checkers. Overview

Join our friendly pharmacy clinical trials team. We provide pharmacy support for the expanding Research and Development work of University Hospital of Liverpool Group, we have a large portfolio of studies requiring the input of the pharmacy department. We are involved in trials which cover many clinical specialties across our hospitals. We manage the CTIMP portfolio for the Walton Centre for Neurology and Liverpool Women's Hospital. We work with external sponsors such as pharmaceutical companies, universities and local research units in the management of IMP. You will be based on the Phase 1 Clinical Research Facility at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, involved in the set up and management of Phase 1 studies. You will be based on the CRF satellite pharmacy where you will assist in the maintenance of trial drugs, dispensing, labelling and checking of clinical trial drugs, recording drug accountability and investigating any discrepancies and temperature monitoring of any areas storing clinical trial medication. You will also meet with external trial representatives during their monitoring visits to discuss the conduct of the trials at site. Full in house training will be given.

Requirements

For the Band 5 post you must be a qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC and have experience of working in Clinical Trials. You must be an accredited accuracy checker.

NOTE: (Annex 21 training positions will also be considered for qualified technicians with no trials experience)
