Senior Network Engineer

About the Role

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and Wireless for our global customers in the energy sector. Due to our global reach and the rapidly evolving nature of our sector you will get to work on diverse tasks, including handling both custom and standardised solutions. Most of the time, you will work as part of a team; however, there may be smaller projects that you complete alone but you will always have the team to support.

You’ll be join a vibrant and knowledgeable group of network specialists that designs, configures, and implements network solutions for both new and existing customers. Whether working on private, public, or hybrid cloud solutions for offshore and onshore clients, your role will have a real impact from day one.

A significant part of your role involves collaborating with third‑party vendors, customers, and colleagues, and mentoring junior team members.

As our Network Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • The design, configuration, and implementation of network solutions.
  • Operation of network components - patching, configuration and troubleshooting, monitoring, and design.
  • Operation of security components within LAN/WLAN (Cisco WLC), such as certificates, identification solutions (Cisco ISE).
  • Troubleshooting and implementation of LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN firewalls, etc.
  • 3rd line Customer Support.
  • 802.1x client authentication – wired/wireless.
Who you are?

We are looking for a motivated colleague with extensive experience within network and infrastructure. To thrive in our team you should have a high level of accountability, good collaboration skills, and share our interest in continuous learning and improvement. To meet our technical requirements you should bring:

  • Experience with operation and maintenance of complex network components - patching, configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Cisco Routing/Switching, configuration and maintenance.
  • In‑depth knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP as well as switching technologies.
  • Expertise in network security protocols and practices, including firewalls, VPNs, VPN deliveries (IP‑VPN, SSL‑VPN, IPSEC‑VPN) and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Experience with configuration and administration of Checkpoint firewalls, Cisco routing and switching. Cisco ISE.
  • Vendor‑specific knowledge of Cisco and Check Point, ideally with advanced certifications (CCNP etc). Additional Juniper and Palo Alto exposure would be beneficial.
  • Understanding of wireless networking standards and technologies.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring tools such as Zabbix and NetFlow.
  • Experience with operation of security components within LAN/WLAN (Cisco WLC), such as certificates, identity solutions (Cisco ISE).
  • Experience with 3rd line Customer Support.
  • Experience with 802.1x client authentication – wired/wireless.
If we’re lucky, you also have experience with:
  • Solution Design, Architecture.
  • Automating network tasks and improving efficiency.
  • Working with Rigs/Vessels.
  • Experience with the Oil/Gas/Energy Sector.
