Overview

Senior .net Engineer

[Full time – 5 days/35 hours per week]

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior .net Engineer’s to join a fast-paced high growth PE backed global software provider to deliver crucial support within the Development Team.

We are recruiting for a Senior .NET Engineer’s; this role will be based at our Nottingham office and you will be working alongside the Head of Development. Whilst we operate a hybrid working policy, you will be expected to attend the office on a regular basis following completion of your induction and training.

The Role

To drive our .net development and help upskill an existing development team and push forward best practice within development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, and related technologies.
  • Build and deploy solutions in Microsoft Azure, leveraging services such as App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Contribute to system design decisions and technical roadmaps.
  • Stay current with emerging Microsoft technologies and recommend where adoption could add value.
  • Architect and optimise SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to deliver intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing user interfaces.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test plans.
  • Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure secure, maintainable code.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical guidance and best practice advice.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Champion agile methodologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide support for live systems, including troubleshooting and out-of-hours support as required.
  • Ensure compliance with security, quality, and regulatory standards.
What you can bring to the role
  • Extensive experience in .NET development (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server (database design, optimisation, and maintenance).
  • Solid understanding of UX/UI principles and experience collaborating with design teams.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or similar) is advantageous.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar).
  • Experience working in agile environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
  • Commitment to secure coding practices and software quality.
  • Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
