Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a Medical Secretary to provide high-quality administrative support to the medical team in Holywell, Wales. The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent, strong typing skills, and experience in a medical environment. This role offers a salary range of £27,898 to £30,615 per annum, pro rata, with responsibilities including coordinating workflows and supporting patient pathways.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a medical secretary or in a similar role.
  • Experience of coordinating administration and clerical activities.
  • Knowledge of Referral To Treatment process (RTT).

Job description

An accurate, confidential and supportive administration service for patients, clinical teams, carers and internal and external agencies (e.g. Local Authority, Third Sector, CAIS) in order to: Provide a safe and efficient patient pathway and provide information and appropriate support to families and carers.

The post holder will ensure the delivery of a comprehensive high quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultant, doctor and junior medical team and specialist nursing teams, other health professionals.

The post holder will be responsible for the guidance and direction of the team dealing with appropriate day to day issues to oversee the smooth running of the department and providing support to the line manager.

Main duties of the job

To provide a comprehensive, high quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultant their medical team and specialist nursing teams, and other health professionals. To co-ordinate and maintain arrangements to facilitate the patients progression along a defined pathway. To maintain the office organisation and monitor the workload related to the administration team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
