  • Client Engagement and Project Scoping : Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, define project scopes, and develop tailored engineering solutions that meet their objectives.
  • Technical Leadership : Provide expert advice and technical oversight on mechanical engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Business Development Support : Contribute to consultancy growth by assisting in the preparation of bids, proposals, and presentations for prospective clients.
  • Problem-Solving and Innovation : Develop creative solutions to engineering challenges, leveraging innovative approaches and technologies to optimise project outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Coordination : Facilitate communication between clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure alignment on deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
  • Compliance and Risk Management : Conduct thorough reviews of designs and methodologies to ensure technical compliance, adherence to regulations, including health and safety standards and environmental guidelines.
  • Continuous Professional Development : Stay informed about advancements in mechanical engineering, and mentor junior staff to foster technical excellence within the consultancy.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Holds a current E&USR safety passport.
  • SCO training.
  • CDM awareness training.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
  • Solution orientated. We are known in the industry for being able to deliver and find a solution to the client's problems.
  • Experience in the energy sector.
  • Experience of pipeline systems is essential.
  • Computer literate with standard office software; familiarity with project management and specialist engineering software advantageous (e.g., hydraulic / flow modelling, stress analysis).
  • A willingness and drive to be the best at what you do.
  • The ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients.
  • The ability to work independently when needed but also know when to seek help.
  • A good understanding of industry standards, specifications and guides.
  • Good IT skills and report writing.
