Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer

The Mechanical Design Engineer will provide mechanical design and technical expertise to support project delivery across a variety of sectors including education (new build schools for the DfE), colleges, universities, high-rise residential, large-scale commercial projects, stadia, and healthcare. Working closely with the Project Team, Project Leader, and wider Design Team, the role ensures consistent production of technically sound and well-considered design solutions. The successful candidate will represent the company with professionalism and enthusiasm, maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external project stakeholders while adhering to quality assurance processes.
  • Support project timescales and resource planning; lead by example and provide guidance and support to junior engineers.
  • Drive the development of design aspects to achieve efficient and effective outcomes.
  • Carry out design calculations, produce drawings, reports, and specifications that clearly communicate system requirements.
  • Utilise digital delivery resources to maintain quality and meet deadlines.
  • Encourage continuous professional development and knowledge sharing within the team to enhance technical expertise and project delivery standards.
  • Contribute across projects that span RIBA stages 0 to 6, including planning, performance and tender packs, detailed and technical design, construction support, inspection and snagging, and handover phases.
