Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – OFFICE BASED

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a building services team in Kent on a full–time basis. You will play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services, from early surveys through to detailed design and support during installation.

Key responsibilities:
  • Design and specify mechanical building services systems for a range of projects.
  • Carry out building surveys and site inspections to gather technical information.
  • Produce accurate drawings and models using CAD and relevant engineering software.
  • Contribute to and help coordinate research and development activities for new solutions and products.
  • Work closely with colleagues across mechanical, electrical and other disciplines to ensure coordinated designs.
  • Ensure all work aligns with current industry standards, regulations and best practice.
Skills and experience:
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering within a building services environment.
  • Strong user of CAD and associated engineering design tools.
  • Demonstrable project management ability, including planning, delivery and progress monitoring.
  • Familiarity with R&D processes and a proactive, innovative approach to problem–solving.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and technical skills.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative working style.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline, or actively working towards it.
  • Knowledge of MEP installation methods and on–site practices.
