Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Build Strategy

What you’ll be doing:
  • Liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Projects, Supply Chain and Engineering to resolve issues arising during Design.
  • Applying problem-solving tools and techniques on during the design phases from PFMEA to design for manufacture
  • Capturing lessons from build activities and integrating them into strategy to prevent recurrence
Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Minimum HNC or equivalent experience in a STEM discipline
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings and CAD models
  • Experience using problem-solving tools like Lean Six Sigma

Desirable:

  • Experience engaging with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve engineering/planning issues
  • Familiarity with SAP / Teamcenter
  • Understanding of submarine build strategy

The SSNA Manufacturing Team:

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, working in the Build Strategy team, you will be joining the SSNA programme but will need to collate learning from experience from Dreadnought & Astute when needed. You will be liaising and managing relations with a variety of stakeholders and business teams to ensure Manufacturing has voice within the Design community, enabling the design to be built in the most optimal way. You will be playing a key part in supporting the delivery of major projects and gaining exposure to senior stakeholders.
