Job description

Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Horsham

Salary: £Competitive

A high-growth engineering and clean-technology manufacturer in Horsham is recruiting two Senior Manufacturing Engineers to support the expansion of its advanced stack production operations. The business works with major international partners but will remain unnamed. The environment is technical, data-led, and focused on scaling precision manufacturing.

These roles sit within the core stack engineering function. One position will support Repeat Unit activities, and the other will focus on Balance of Stack. Both require full ownership of manufacturing processes, tooling development, and production readiness. You will act as the primary manufacturing representative, shaping design decisions, strengthening process capability, and driving improvements across internal and external interfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop tooling, process specifications, and verification plans
  • Lead and contribute to structured design reviews and risk assessments (PFMEA, DFM/A, DRBFM)
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC methods to improve output, efficiency, and quality
  • Analyse production data to reduce defects, variation, and waste
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Facilities, Supply Chain, and Quality teams
  • Mentor colleagues, lead 8D investigations, and support the delivery of improvement projects
  • Engage suppliers to resolve issues, enhance component quality, and stabilise delivery performance
  • Provide autonomous technical leadership and guidance on complex engineering challenges
Skills and Experience
  • BEng/MEng in Mechanical, Chemical, Process Engineering, or similar
  • Established experience in a manufacturing engineering role within a relevant industry
  • Skilled in CAD (preferably Creo), product data management tools, and GD&T to BS 8888
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-influencing capability
  • Practical experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC methodologies (Cp/Cpk, gauge R&R)
  • Able to lead structured risk reviews and support others in problem-solving
  • Proactive, independent, and confident working in a fast-paced technical environment
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office and PPM or project-tracking systems

Applicants seeking a senior technical role with influence over manufacturing strategy and process development are encouraged to apply.
