The Enterprise Risk Management function is hiring for an exciting Senior Manager opportunity that will have a prime focus on Digital Assets and Currencies (DAC). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring DAC risk across HSBC group globally is effectively managed and embedded into the wider HSBC Risk Management Framework and adheres to the defined standards as per the appropriate frameworks, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

In this role you will:
  • Monitor and assess new DAC regulations and support DAC regulatory submissions and engagement.
  • Be responsible for key elements of the developing HSBC’s risk management framework to effectively address the use of Digital Assets and Currencies (DAC) across the Group.
  • Help ensure HSBC can effectively govern, identify, measure and manage risks from the use of Digital Assets and Currencies.
  • Provide technical advice and support globally to ensure stakeholders understand and are aware of the policy requirements, control environment and assessment of DAC risk globally.
  • Actively monitor the internal and external environment around DAC risks and use findings to provide detailed guidance on controls required to mitigate against them.
  • Work closely with 1LOD DAC leads to ensure robust governance, oversight and risk management of multiple DAC projects globally.
  • Deliver tailored and specific expertise across DAC Risk enabling 1LOD to successfully deploy and operate mitigating key controls.
  • Support training and capability uplift for the ERM Business & Functions teams to ensure robust understanding of DAC Risk.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Thorough understanding of Digital Assets and Currencies.
  • Knowledge of the relevant DAC regulatory landscape and ability to access the impact of proposed changes in regulatory rules to the bank.
  • Understanding and technical expertise of DAC risk, including how this risk can be identified, assessed, monitored and controlled and mitigated where relevant.
  • Ability to provide expert advice, analysis and robust challenge, on detailed risk and control issues.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills to communicate complex issues clearly and confidently.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills to deal with a range of stakeholders across the business involved in DAC, with the ability to negotiate, convince, and get collective buy-in on high profile issues.

The base location for this role is London on a hybrid working basis.
