Qualifications

Senior Management Accountant

£55,000 - £60,000

Clarkson Evans is the largest electrical and solar installer working in the new build housing sector. Our successful business continues to grow by expanding into renewable technologies, and we are transforming our systems and processes to ensure that growth has a sustainable platform. We need to ensure we have robust financial controls and provide the right information at the right time to support business decision making whilst we transform our systems and processes.

This role will report to the Head of Finance and work alongside our other Management Accountant, who prepares the routine entries through to draft Management Information. Where this role differs is that it will be focused on developing new and improved data to report routines as well as resolving other process inefficiencies. This is especially important as we transition to our new ERP system. We are looking for someone who is happy to take ownership of their own projects to drive improvements and play a pivotal role in the adoption of our new ERP system.

We like to work in a collaborative manner and therefore want someone who has the confidence and knowledge to make a positive contribution to discussions and when relevant can research new ideas independently with minimal guidance for wider consideration.

Your Key Focus

Your key focus will be helping the business to make better use of the financial data

  • Improving existing routines
  • Determining new routines to aid the transition to our new ERP system
  • Determining ongoing routines for our new ERP system
Additional Tasks
  • Assisting with annual audit preparation and reviewing statutory accounts
  • Balance sheet and other reconciliations to assist the wider department
  • The continuous review and improvement of accounting procedures
  • Assisting other areas of the finance team with ad hoc queries as required
  • Additional ad hoc projects
Requirements
  • Relevant accounting experience with strong technical knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills & good working knowledge of financial systems
  • Experience of Business Intelligence platforms, notably Microsoft Power BI
  • Previous management experience (useful but not essential)
  • To be motivated to deliver work of a high standard to tight deadlines
  • A strong attention to detail
  • To be flexible
  • An effective communicator with colleagues across the company
  • A ‘can do’ attitude
  • Willing to challenge current procedures in a constructive manner
