Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Management Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a proactive, forward looking role requiring excellent communication skills to liaise with multiple stakeholder groups at all levels within the business. You will be leading, enhancing and developing all aspects of financial performance; providing partnership to the business whilst maintaining the local control frameworks. The successful applicant will provide meaningful analysis and insight; considering the potential impact on the wider Group profitability. This role is responsible for managing the day to day activities of the Management Accounts function and has three direct reports. In collaboration with the Finance Manager, you will be leading the financial accounting processes and build and maintain positive relationships with the Finance team and relevant department managers.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements
  • Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, including responsibility for capital expenditure, accruals, prepayments, employee expenses, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
  • Budgeting and reforecasting cycles, partnering with business managers to ensure financial plans are robust and commercially sound
  • Manage and mentor a team of three
  • Variance analysis
  • Contributing towards business process improvement and implementation of efficiencies
  • Improve the quality of analysis and reporting to aid strategic decision making and consider the impact on the wider WMFTS Group
  • Cross functional collaboration working across multiple levels of the organisation
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as requested from Line Manager or Financial Controller
Who You'll Be Working With

Qualifications
  • Qualified accountant with management experience
  • Exceptional financial acumen to include strong business partnering skills
  • Excellent problem solving, process improvement and organisational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with a commercial mindset and the ability to present concepts and results in a concise manner to all levels of the organisation
  • Able to work independently and understand the "what" and the "why" behind results
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with the desire to understand the "why" behind the numbers
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
  • Proactive and organised approach to work
  • IT proficient, strong Excel skills and experience working with Power BI would be desirable
