A cultural institution in Birmingham seeks a Finance professional to manage accounts and support budget preparations. Ideal candidates will have qualifications as an accountant or equivalent experience, expertise in financial reporting, and proficiency in Excel. This permanent position offers a salary of at least £50,000 per annum with valuable benefits and a commitment to diversity.
The Rep's Finance department is responsible for all aspects of the financial management of the theatre and its two commercial subsidiaries.
The role involves producing management accounts, supporting the Finance Director in preparing annual budgets and monthly forecasts, as well as developing a flexible budget modelling tool to aid strategic planning across leadership teams. It will also include advising budget holders on financial matters, particularly in relation to funding bids.
Candidate should be qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent), or someone with at least five years of relevant experience. They will have a strong track record in producing management accounts, driving process improvements, and delivering insightful and accurate monthly reporting. Also essential are advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software, along with a highly analytical mindset and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the evidential ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure are a must for this role, and ideally a passion for live theatre.

Period of Work: This is a permanent contract, subject to successful completion of a probationary period of three months.
Pay: Commensurate with experience, to be no less than £50,000 per annum. More for an exceptional candidate
Hours: 39 hours per week.
Holidays: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays, and a days accrual for each year of service up to 5 years.
