Job description

This is a 1-month contract with a local authority. The role involves providing an effective, efficient, and professional in-house legal service by managing allocated Right to Buy cases in compliance with legislative and procedural requirements. Additionally, the position supports the Property, Planning, and Contracts team, along with other Legal Services teams as needed, to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service delivery to clients., Manage end-to-end procurement processes for property-related contracts, including repairs.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake all legal and administrative tasks efficiently, ensuring accuracy and adherence to agreed timescales.
  • Manage a high-volume caseload of Right to Buy matters under strict deadlines.
  • Draft and prepare legal documentation, respond to enquiries, progress matters to completion, and handle post-completion formalities.
  • Serve statutory notices during the Right to Buy process to ensure timely transactions.
  • Handle disposals of small parcels of freehold land, including drafting documentation and liaising with buyer's solicitors.
  • Investigate title issues, prepare title reports, and advise on implications affecting disposals.
  • Liaise with internal departments, third parties, and stakeholders to progress cases.
  • Undertake delegated legal tasks efficiently while maintaining high professional standards.
Qualifications
  • In-depth experience in Right to Buy and residential conveyancing.
  • Strong understanding of the Right to Buy scheme and Part V of the Housing Act 1985.
