Are you an experienced, driven, and self‑assured legal professional looking to make a global impact in the renewables sector? We’re seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to play a key role in supporting our international RWE Offshore Wind business.

As part of our dynamic Construction & Procurement Law Department, you will collaborate closely with dedicated colleagues from the RWE Offshore Wind Legal Team and work hand in hand with other departments. Together, you’ll deliver holistic, seamless legal support to advance the success of RWE's offshore wind projects worldwide.

About the role
  • Becoming a key legal partner for international procurement, construction, and operational activities in RWE’s Offshore Wind business across the globe.
  • Advising, developing, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of high‑impact contracts that support every phase of offshore wind projects, including:
    • Turbine supply agreements
    • Foundation agreements
    • EPC(I) & turnkey contracts
    • Component purchase agreements
    • Service agreements
    • Maritime logistics contracts (e.g., BIMCO)
    • And more!
  • Serving as the go‑to legal advisor for project teams and business partners and efficiently coordinating in‑house and external legal experts to deliver pragmatic, cost‑effective solutions.
  • Overseeing all contract‑related legal matters within your portfolio, proactively advising senior management on risks, claims, and disputes.
  • Supporting dispute resolution processes, including collaboration with outside counsel whenever necessary.
  • Championing standardisation and process improvements to streamline the way we work and maximise our legal impact.
  • Engineering tailored, innovative solutions for complex, high‑value projects where a creative approach is needed.
  • Building strong, cross‑functional and cross‑cultural relationships—working closely with legal and business colleagues across regions and throughout the wider RWE Group.
Job requirements and experience
  • Team player highly motivated to work on international projects alongside international colleagues.
  • Qualified lawyer with a proven track record and exceptional legal skills.
  • In‑depth knowledge of construction law—and eager to become an expert in related areas such as energy or procurement law.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a practising lawyer or in‑house counsel (ideally 5 years focused on construction and procurement law inables, especially on international projects).
  • Skilled at juggling priorities, embracing new responsibilities, and adapting in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
  • Strong commercial and technical acumen, with a strategic approach to supporting industrial projects from a legal perspective.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills, coupled with a solution‑driven and positive mindset.
  • Highly engaged—capable of independent work and thriving within cross‑functional teams.
  • Full fluency in English (other languages a plus), along with a genuine enjoyment of working in multicultural, global teams and openness to business travel as needed.
  • The opportunity to play a pivotal role in high‑profile, complex renewable energy projects and transactions that shape the future of offshore wind.
  • Varied and stimulating work that directly contributes to the global green energy transition.
  • A positive, dynamic, and supportive work environment where collaboration and innovation are celebrated.
  • Flexible working hours and location arrangements to help you achieve your ideal work‑life balance.
  • The chance to join a truly international team of passionate and motivated colleagues.
  • An open culture that values your ideas and encourages you to drive positive change.
  • Room to grow: extensive opportunities for personal and professional development within RWE.
