SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL - INTERNATIONAL

Location: UK - Manchester highly preferred

SUMMARY

OneStream are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel with experience with software, SaaS and professional services agreements to join the OneStream Legal team. The role will cover multiple jurisdictions across EMEA. The successful candidate will partner with the Sales teams to draft and negotiate high value, strategically important SaaS Agreements along with ancillary documents including Data Protection terms, security terms, codes of conduct etc. The role will be involved in the sales cycle from an early stage, helping Sales to shape more complex transactions and interacting directly with customers and prospective, along with various departments, on the full range of contracting activities from NDA to termination.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS, software license agreements and professional services for the EMEA.
  • Familiarity with one or more compliance related subject matter areas : Privacy, AI, Export, Open-Source, DORA, Accessibility, and Entity Management.
  • Provide support to Sales, Deal Desk, and Customer Success Managers on issues of contract interpretation and potential disputes.
  • Legal research on issues related to SaaS, software and professional services across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Leading or contributing to Legal team projects, which may include drafting new templates, working with specialist teams to solve new challenges and other commercial or corporate projects.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practicing certificate.
  • 6+ years PQE with at least 2 years specializing in software, SaaS and professional services agreements.
  • Experience of working across a range of jurisdictions, particularly in Europe.
  • Solid knowledge of Data Protection laws.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly digest complex information and make well-reasoned, informed decisions.
  • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter, as well as able to collaborate effectively with Legal team members and with other departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, that can be adapted to any given situation, including difficult customer negotiations, C-Level executive summaries, and team collaboration.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
