Role

The School of Engineering is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Lecturer who will make an important contribution to our teaching and learning provision and research in the subject area of microelectronics.

The School has a diverse body of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, and we have an opportunity for a new member to join our team. You will be expected to make broad contributions to the academic work of the School of Engineering.

You will lead the delivery of taught modules in microelectronics and will play a key role in advancing research in emerging memory and logic devices, with leading expertise and a proven track record in electrical-based experimental characterisation focusing on the quality and reliability of nanoscale devices. Knowledge of Low-Power VLSI Design, Analogue & Mixed Signal Electronic Design and/or Real Time Embedded Systems is particularly welcome.

You will be committed to ensuring an outstanding student experience and will:

  • Lead on the delivery of teaching in the area of microelectronics, contributing to relevant modules at all levels.
  • Contribute to the broader teaching portfolio across the school, supporting curriculum enrichment, recruitment, and outreach.
  • Develop engaging and authentic practical experiences for students.
  • Lead projects with industry and other organisations to enhance the teaching capability of the school.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care and academic supervision of taught students.
  • Contribute to an excellent learning environment, which is oriented towards achieving high levels of employability for the School of Engineering's graduates.
Research

Research and scholarship are core activities within the School of Engineering. The appointed person will be encouraged and supported to sustain and develop their research and scholarship.
